Yaron Shamir is a dance choreographer born in Israel and living in Berlin. He started his artistic carrier in 1998 after 4 years of military service as an officer. Since then, he has been working simultaneously in Europe and Israel as a choreographer and a dancer. He received scholarships and support by the Israeli Ministry of Culture and Education and by the Goethe Institute in Germany. Since 2009, he creates choreographies and installation projects – both ensembles and solos  – and gives workshops at the international stage and festivals all over the world. He has been invited as a guest choreographer in the opera houses and theaters in Europa, Asia and United States. Additionally, Yaron Shamir works as a guest juror at international festivals.

Yaron Shamir wurde in Israel geboren und lebt in Berlin. Seine künstlerische Karriere begann er  1998; zuvor war er vier Jahre Offizier in der israelischen Armee. Er arbeitet sowohl in Europa als auch in Israel als Choreograf und Tänzer. Seine Ausbildung wurde vom israelischen Ministerium für Kultur und Erziehung gefördert; unterstützt wird seine Arbeit auch vom Goethe-Institut. Seit 2009 entwickelt Yaron Shamir Choreografien und Installations-Projekte, sowohl mit Ensembles als auch Solo-Programme; er leitet weltweit Workshops an internationalen Bühnen und bei Festivals. Neben seiner Arbeit in Deutschland wurde er als Gast-Choreograf in verschiedene europäische Länder sowie nach Asien und in die USA eingeladen. Yaron Shamir arbeitet außerdem als Gast-Juror auf internationalen Festivals.
