Yaron Shamir makes the search for “home” the central theme of his choreography, exploring their own ideas and emotions together with the young dancers. Many of them are in a foreign country for the first time, in a new phase of life, on the way to an uncertain professional future.

It’s still the most beautiful place at home.” Many people would certainly agree with this saying. But what do we actually understand by the term home? For a long time now, “home” no longer only necessarily means the place where a man grew up or was born . Rather, everyone associates it with a different feeling, atmosphere or environment or with certain specific people or a specific time. Most people find it difficult to express why we feel at home somewhere and with anyone. We often ask how much we value our homeland only when we are far away from it and homesickness or longing breaks out.

We are continuing our successful Showcase series in the 2022/23 season. In the intimate atmosphere of the studio, very personal works are created for the sound makers. This time, Israeli-born choreographer Yaron Shamir is working with the company’s juniors and the ensemble’s young dancers, who were able to begin their first professional engagement in Chemnitz with the help of the NEUSTART KULTUR funding program

Yaron Shamir macht die Suche nach „Heimat“ zum zentralen Thema seiner Choreografie und erkundet gemeinsam mit den jungen Tänzern ihre eigenen Ideen und Emotionen. Viele von ihnen befinden sich zum ersten Mal in einem fremden Land, in einem neuen Lebensabschnitt, auf dem Weg in eine ungewisse berufliche Zukunft.

Es ist immer noch der schönste Ort zu Hause.“ Diesem Sprichwort würden sicherlich viele Menschen zustimmen. Doch was verstehen wir eigentlich unter dem Begriff Heimat? Mit „Heimat“ ist längst nicht mehr unbedingt nur der Ort gemeint, an dem ein Mensch aufgewachsen ist Aufgewachsen oder geboren. Vielmehr verbindet jeder damit ein anderes Gefühl, eine andere Atmosphäre oder Umgebung oder mit bestimmten bestimmten Menschen oder einer bestimmten Zeit. Den meisten Menschen fällt es schwer auszudrücken, warum wir uns irgendwo und bei jemandem zu Hause fühlen. Wir fragen oft, wie sehr Wir schätzen unsere Heimat erst dann, wenn wir weit weg von ihr sind und Heimweh oder Sehnsüchte ausbrechen.

Wir setzen unsere erfolgreiche Showcase-Reihe in der Saison 2022/23 fort. In der intimen Atmosphäre des Studios entstehen für die Klangmacher ganz persönliche Werke. Diesmal arbeitet der in Israel geborene Choreograf Yaron Shamir mit den Junioren der Kompanie und den Nachwuchstänzern des Ensembles, die mithilfe des Förderprogramms NEUSTART KULTUR ihr erstes professionelles Engagement in Chemnitz beginnen konnten
